Jordan – A Primer

Jordan is a destination that is rapidly gaining popularity as a top tourist destination in the Middle East. Jordan, an Arabic country on the south side of the Jordan River, defines itself by ancient ruins, beautiful nature reserves, beaches, and seaside resort-style hotels. It is home to the famous archaeological site of Petra, built in the 3rd century B.C. perched on a narrow island in the middle of the desert. The country is also known for its vast collection of art including beautiful sculptures from the Niles culture period. The city is also known for its food and traditional Bedouin culture.

Jordan tourism has grown tremendously over the past twenty years since it was first opened up to the world in November 1986 with the first direct flights to Jordan from the United Kingdom. Jordan’s tourism growth has been fueled by an influx of thousands of international travelers who set up camp in Amman and other cities all throughout Jordan. Since 2021, Jordan tourism has seen more visitors than any other country in the middle east. The growth has been primarily fueled by increased air flights from the UK since 2021 due to the opening up of direct flights. Over the same period, Jordan has extended several major attractions outside its borders, such as the Al-Balad tourist center in Hashem, which is home to the largest tourist economy in the region.

The Wadi Rum is an oasis in Jordan’s desert that provides a unique experience for travelers to Jordan. Located at the lowest point on the planet, the Wadi Rum can be considered one of the lost cities of the world. Wadi Rum is a vast oasis located in the Golan Heights and consists of a small village surrounded by dry and rocky desert. The village has become a favorite with tourists who visit Jordan. A unique and beautiful Wadi Rum experience includes hiking the Wadi Rum valley from the town of Rukam and travelling up the rocky valley to the top of Wadi Rum, where you can stand on top of a mountaintop overlooking the Wadi Rum and enjoy the golden views from every angle.

For those who want a different type of Jordan tour, there is another Jordan tourism destination worth visiting. Petra is the capital of Jordan and is a popular tourist destination among both locals and foreigners. Petra offers a unique experience as it is only two kilometres wide, making it the largest city in Jordan. In addition, tourists can enjoy both old and new life in the old town of Petra. It is home to numerous churches, synagogues, mosques, and monuments. Divorce Lawyer Lafayette

Like the Wadi Rum, a visit to the Desert Museum in Amman also offers an interesting travel experience. The museum offers a variety of objects, including sandstone carvings, stone sculptures, and other amassing of desert life. There are a small theater as well as an information desk where tourists can obtain maps and information about Jordan’s major attractions, such as the Wadi Rum and Petra. The desert museum has recently been refurbished and the interior design is modern and stylish. An area of interest is a special collection of ancient Jordan vessels that span centuries, which is well worth seeing. John Thomas Law
